iRule Editor

The F5 iRule Editor is the industry's first integrated code editor for network devices. What does that mean for you? Well, it means that you are no longer constrained to a simple edit window (or vi for you hard core geeks out there). You can now develop iRules with full syntax highlighting, colorization, textual auto-complete, integrated help, etc. You get the point...

What are you waiting for? Click on the Discussions tab to download it and give it a whirl and see how your iRule skills improve!

How do you get your hands on this exciting piece of software? It's actually pretty easy: Just Click Here to download the self-extracting setup and you'll be on your way to iRule bliss.

The only prerequisite for this application is the v2.x of the .NET Framework. The setup will prompt you to install the .NET framework if you don't already have it installed. This is a required component so don't skip this step if you want the iRule Editor to startup B-).

The first time the application is started, it will attempt to contact DevCentral for application updates. If an updated version is available it should prompt you to upgrade. Also, if a iRule template update is available, it will prompt you to download those as well. If you are never prompted for an update, then odds are you are behind a proxy server and those features won't work for you.

Note: This tool is provided via DevCentral as a free tool to help you better leverage iRules, and is in no way offically supported by F5 or F5 Professional Services. All support, questions, comments or otherwise for this editor should be directed to the iRule Editor Forums on DevCentral.
