Did you know that F5's FirePass SSL-VPN has a client-side programming interface? We have customers using it embedded in biometric thumb readers and inside vending machines. You may think: "Wow, that's cool but how does it help me?". Well, if you are a mobile worker who just happens to be lucky enough to be using FirePass, then this project, along with the Firepass Windows Tray Client, might give you some ideas.

A majority of mobile workers live and die by their email. But the process of opening a browser, logging into their VPN, waiting for a connection be established, and then loading up Outlook could definitely be optimized.

Enter the FirePass Outlook Toolbar. Now VPN connectivity is available directly from within the Outlook UI. Startup Outlook and click on the FirePass toolbar's connect button and you are on your way to connectivity bliss.
