v10.1 - Configuring GTM's DNS Security Extensions
Thursday, November 19, 2009 10:18 AM by Jason Rahm (7308 Views)

Security extensions were added to the DNS protocol as a means of countering malicious attacks such as cache poisoning, domain hijacking, and man-in-the-middle attacks.  The extensions are described in detail in RFC 4033 (Introduction and Requirements), RFC 4034 (Resource Records), and RFC 4035 (Protocol Modifications).  Understanding what DNSSEC is and why it's important is well covered elsewhere -- whitepapers, research, etc at http://www.dnssec.net and there's a nice implementation tutorial at http://www.dyndns.com/support/kb/implementing_dnssec.html -- so we'll focus here on the DNSSEC implementation details as it pertains to GTM.

v.10 - FastHTTP and Cookie Persistence
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 3:40 PM by Joe (8282 Views)

The Fast HTTP profile is a configuration tool designed to speed up certain types of HTTP connections. This profile combines selected features from the TCP, HTTP, and OneConnect profiles into a single profile that is optimized for the best possible network performance. When you associate this profile with a virtual server, the virtual server processes traffic packet-by-packet, and at a significantly higher speed.  With BIG-IP version 10, cookie persistence is now compatible with the FastHTTP profile.
