We all have our favourite browsers for one reason or another and if you're a geek like me you might even have 3 browsers or more installed. With all the new browsers being launched we are being bombarded with statistics about which one is faster and which one has the coolest new features. If you were to rank the browser versions in terms of worldwide popularity how would you rank them - go ahead take a minute to write down your top 3 I'll wait.
The people over at StatCounter provide global statistics on the market share of various browsers...

Having a site unavailable is probably worse than having a slow loading page. Outages can occur for multiple reasons such as an overloaded back end server, an upgrade that didn't go as planned, or a power outage at the data centre. Whatever the reason the end result is the same dissatisfied customers (some which may never come back) and lost revenue. Nobody is immune to outages there have been some fairly high profile sites that have had outages over the last year including Amazon, Twitter, and Facebook - just do a search for outages and you'll find many more that...

A netscuse is blaming the Internet for being unable to complete a task. In many instances an application delivery controller or acceleration solution can help eliminate these netscuses. How many of these netscuses or something similar have you used or heard? I can't use the new self-service portal/application the pages take forever to load. When I went to submit my timesheet/take a course/pay a bill the site was down. The site is fine when using the corporate network but when I connect via my mobile it's just unusable....

I have returned from my two week hiatus. One of those weeks was spent entirely unplugged - no BlackBerry, no laptop, no Internet, and no television. For a person whose job depends on the Internet and web applications spending a week without any sort of connectivity wasn't easy but was very worth it. The first few days were fine it wasn't until I hit Thursday that I really started craving connectivity.
