If you've seen the first two videos about the TechCenter, then you already know that this new facility is not only a big event as far as the company is concerned, but it's technologically awesome as well. If you haven't seen them yet, you probably should to fully understand what we're talking about here.
Whether it's the slick use of VMWare to spin up virtualized application instances, or the breadth of different scenarios that can be deployed to do real-time testing and demonstration of products and solutions, there's something here to hold just about anyone's interest. And with its 3,000+ patch cables pre-wired to allow you to make use of a miriad of different systems and configuration options without having to pull a single cable, you can make use of all of those cool features without breaking a sweat, or even stepping away from your coffee.
Steve Mitchell, one of the minds behind the design, engineering and implementation of this facility was kind enough to take us into the lab itself to give us an "under the covers" look at what's going on behind the scenes. We talked about how things were planned out, how long it took to build things out, what makes all that ease of use and speed to deployment possible, and more.
The tour was great, but next time I think I'll bring a different mic. ;)
