On the way from Seattle to Kamloops you pass through a little town named "The District of Hope". There are three interesting things about Hope to contemplate as you fill up with gas for the drive over the mountain pass:

It is the self proclaimed chainsaw carving capital of the world. A quick Google search shows that some other towns may give the residents of Hope a run for their money.

It is the site of one of the largest landslides in Canada.

The most interesting though, is that Sylvester Stallone's Rambo: First Blood was filmed there in 1981!
