Any tips of disconnect the connection when to disable a pool.

Hi All.

Let me have a question. Are there any way to disconnect a connection for maintenance time when we disable to pool member by using webui or tmsh? The reason we need the feature is that bigip tends keeping the connection for long time period, such as keep-alive, despite of disabling the pool member. Disabling member doesn't allow to disconnect a connection. As you know, the command introduced "tmsh delete sys connection..." is useful, but it doesn't cooperate with the feature of disable to the pool member. Do everyone have any tips?

Hi Odaah

Thank you very much!!. I got expected behavior.

  1. Action on Service Down in the Pool set to Reject.
  2. Forced offline to the specific pool member by using webui.

BIG-IP sends [TCP RST] to both side of the client and the server.
