Folks, we are seeing an array status replicating message intermittently in an F5 7200 box. One of the disk in the array comes in the replicating state and then shows all working fine. This behavior continues.
what if we remove the faulty HDD from the array and then add a new HDD and put it in the Array?
If you have a current support contract, I recommend raising a support ticket with F5 Support - they can help you collect data that will determine if a disk is faulty and organise a RMA.
We do not have the required support on this. What if we have a spare disk? We have already removed the faulty disk from the Array. Can we add a new disk and simple add it to the array?
Is there any method we can format the new disk before adding it to the Array?
You need to check that the failed disk has been removed from the array first
K12380: RAID capable BIG-IP platforms report the RAID status as degraded in the Configuration utility after a hard drive replacement
Then you can insert the replacement disk, and the array will rebuild automatically.
this got resolved with an RMA
