We need help with modifying default Login page Big-IP APM. We would like to include links and text in detail section. General customization only allows to have custom text for Footer section. looking for solution similar to what was available with 10.x , where we can generate static page.

Our environment is using F5 11.6 with iApp 2.1 for Citrix Xendesktop.

Hi Anilmoh,

The best way to manage content on the right side of the logon page is to use Hosted Content. Here are the steps.

  1. Create HTML page and upload to the "public" section of Hosted Content. Make sure to note the link for the content (e.g. /public/share/include.html)
  2. Allow access in "Manage Profile Access" for the Access Policy. Check the box next to your AP and save.
  3. Find the logon.inc page in Advanced Customization.
  4. Remove the following lines at the bottom of the page. (around line 772)

    <? if( $GLOBALS["page_layout"] == "form_left" ){
        ?><td id="main_table_image_cell"><img src="<? print('%[front_image]'); ?>"></td><?
    } ?>

  5. Add the following lines in the same place you just removed the code in step 4. Make sure the "src" points to the file that was uploaded in step 1.

    <td id="include_table_image_cell" style="width:99%" align="center" valign="middle"><iframe frameborder="0" name="status_frame" id="status_frame" style="width:95%;height:95%" src="/public/share/include.html"> </iframe></td>

  6. Around or on line 477 you will need to replace..

    <td id="main_table_info_cell">

    with

    <td id="main_table_info_cell" style="width:1%">

  7. Click "Save Draft" in the upper right hand corner of the editor.

  8. Click "Save" in the editor tool bar.
  9. Apply the Access Policy
  10. You should now be able to open the browser and go to the logon page and the custom HTML will be on the right hand side.

You will now be able to manage the full content via the included page and you can edit and modify in any editor you want. To update it just upload the new file to Hosted Content.

Hopefully this helps you out! Please let me know if you have questions.

Seth

Greg, I referred that document and its very good. But I'm not able to find a way where I can modify Content section to include include custom Images and text. We would like to have Links on home page to give important Service desk number and links. Will might have to change layout to include those details on footer section.

I can get this to work; however I keep getting a security warning saying "This webpage contains content that will not e delivered using a secure HTTPS connection, which could compromise the security of the entire webpage".

Thoughts?
