Create Class

I am unable to find any documentation on creating a class. There are multiple references to a class definition but very specious information on where to put it.

I have tried editing the bigip.conf manually.. only to have changes reverted somehow.. I'm not sure how to make them stick. I am unable to make a "data group" through the gui because of the large number of entries I have to add to my class.

There is the ability to reference and external file... can I just create this file with the class definition and put it in the /config directory?

Thank you for your reply.

What version are you running? You should be able to edit the bigip.conf, run 'b load' and see the changes you made in the GUI.

If you want to create an external class you can check this post for an example and more info (Click here).

You can create a class by creating a file containing something like:

class myClass {
"entry 1 ...."
"entry 2 ..."
...
}

and then issue a 'b merge '.

You can also add entries by using

class myClass add {
"entry 1 ...."
"entry 2 ..."
...
}

and delete specific entries by using

class myClass delete {
"entry 1 ...."
"entry 2 ..."
...
}

And don't forget to do a 'b save' if you wish to save the config to disk.
