Rename VLANs on LTM

We planning to rename one of the VLAN on F5 LTM, whether is possible to delete completely and recreate again?

Or any other recommendations?

I don't want to reload this box.

I mean follow the below steps

Hi,

You can do this :

  1. create new VLAN
  2. modify self-ip to new VLAN
  3. delete old VLAN
  4. change VLAN properties to assign interface.

with tmsh commands:

create net vlan new tag 1111
modify net self self_net_ad_ipv6 vlan new
delete net vlan old
modify net vlan new interfaces replace-all-with { 1.3 { untagged } } tag 1234

Thanks for the update

We will try and update

1]Create test VLAN 2]Modify Self ip to test vlan 3]Create Route domain and routes with Test Vlan 4]Delete the old VLAN 5] Create again old VLAN with different Name and follow to change self IP vlan.

Hope it will work

Our current setup, the route domain also created under this VLAN

So, we have to change route domain with new Name of VLAN

  1. create new VLAN
  2. assign the new VLAN to Route Domain
  3. modify self-ip to new VLAN
  4. delete old VLAN
  5. change VLAN properties to assign interface.

with tmsh:

create net vlan new tag 1111
modify net route-domain RD1 vlans add { new  }
modify net self self_net_ad_ipv6 vlan new
delete net vlan old
modify net vlan new interfaces replace-all-with { 1.3 { untagged } } tag 1234

We tried with below steps, created new VLAN and Route domain but when tried to change self IP VLAN getting this below error message.

01070354:3: Self IP xx.xx.xx.xx / 255.255.255.0: This network is defined on two vlans (/Common/GSS-I-TEST and /Common/GSS-I-PRES)

create new VLAN assign the new VLAN to Route Domain modify self-ip to new VLAN
