SOFTWARE UPDATE CHECK ON LTM -BIG-IP 20000

I have been trying to automatically check for software update availability on my LTM Big-IP, but each time i tried i always recieve this error message:-

An error has occurred while trying to process your request. -- Use of uninitialized value $ret_hostname in scalar chomp at /usr/local/share/perl5/F5/ServerLookup.pm line 41. No response from update server

Please what do i need to do to resolve this? I also want to know if this will allow me to update the said software directly.

Hello Testimony,

Check this :

https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K96425170

It seems that you didn't configured the DNS setting on your BIG IP

You can't update directly the software like that, It will only gives you a list of most recent release/hotfix, EUD, EPSEC and geo location version information..

Check this article for more details https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K15000

Have you checked that your F5 can resolve (using nslookup for example) :

callhome.f5.com, activiate.f5.com and api.f5.com

If it can resolve these sites, have you verified that it can access them and they are not blocked on your FW.

Check this table it can help you to create the IP addresses that must be accessible
