Lightboard Lessons: Internal Virtual Servers

You’ve seen our Whiteboard Wednesday videos, but we are kicking it up a notch with our new “Lightboard Lessons” video series. In this video, Jason details the internal virtual server or IVS, which supports designs to pass egress or ingress traffic through an alternative virtual server for processing. This functionality is typically used for content adaption, but there are other use cases as well.

  • Extremely cool. Question - when you say "ad insertion", does this have something to do with Active Directory, or does it mean inserting advertisements into the web content? Sorry for my ignorance.
  • advertisements. So if you had a placeholder in your structural content, you could insert adds on response based on whatever criteria you might discover upon query, such as tracking cookie information, browser type, etc.
