Errors with HTTP monitor in GTM

I am seeking advice on troubleshooting HTTP monitor. Currently, I have a server object defined in GTM (with it's own virtual server). If I try deleting the server object I get the following error: "01070712:3: Caught configuration exception (0), Can't load parent monitor rule for http - MonitorRule.cpp, line 1612." Same error I get when I go to GTM/Servers list/select the server and go to virtual server tab and try deleting the virtual server. If I go to that virtual server and try changing the port for port translation I get: "01070029:3: The monitor rule http was not found." It looks like the default HTTP monitor stopped working but I'm not sure what steps to take in resolving the issue. TMSH commands produce the same errors.

I am running version BIG-IP 10.2.0 Build 1707.0 Final.

Thank you Ed

  • Hi Ed,

I think you can fix this by reloading the mcp config database. Note that this requires stopping TMM and will require a maintenance window.

SOL13030: Forcing the mcpd process to reload configuration http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/13000/000/sol13030.html

If that doesn't fix the issue I suggest opening a support case.

  • We recently hit this same error with my customer.

They have 2 GTMs in a sync group. We made changes on 1 GTM and encountered the error message.

We then found that the monitor setting in the server object are out of sync on the 2 GTMs.

Then we tried making changes on the same server object on the other GTM and let them sync again.

This fixed the issue. However they are on v9.4.1 which is an obselete version.
