f5.microsoft_exchange_2010_2013_cas.v1.6.2 iApp tested with TMOS v14.x & 15.x

Hi,

Does anyone know if the f5.microsoft_exchange_2010_2013_cas.v1.6.2 iApp has been tested with TMOS v14.x & 15.x? Looking at this article (https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K13497) it doesn't list versions 14.x or 15.x. I do note this on the page: 'Updated Date: Jul 11, 2017'. Also the deployment guide at https://www.f5.com/pdf/deployment-guides/microsoft-exchange-iapp-dg.pdf doesn't list those versions of TMOS as supported. I'm about to test it myself in my Exchange test environment that has two BIG-IP VEs but obviously, I need to hear if F5 have (a) tested it on TMOS 14.x & 15.x and (b) indicated the TMOS 14.x & 15.x is officially supported for this iApp before I go ahead and update my Prod systems for various security reasons.

  • Hi Benjamin,

Microsoft Exchange / CAS 2010 – 2013 has reached Mainstream End of Support and Microsoft now recommends migrating to O365.

As a result, F5 is no longer investing in testing this iApp against newer TMOS releases. This means that it is not officially supported in those versions. That being said, I see no reason why it wouldn’t work with newer versions, but I cannot guarantee it. It may be worth testing in your environment to see if it will work for you.

      Hi Nathan,

We're upgrading to Exch2016/2019 (to be decided) and will need two on-premise nodes in a hybrid setup with O365. What's your position regarding ADC for this type of deployment?

        Benjamin,

Unfortunately I am not typically involved much with brand new deployments so I haven't personally deployed something like that before. That being said, I would likely start with an iApp template to see if it offers the options that you need and if not you can still potentially deploy it and then adjust the configuration as needed.

We also offer Professional Services (at an extra cost) who would be able to assess your environment and deploy the application for you if you choose to do that. I would recommend reaching out to your F5 account rep if you would like to go that route.
