How to debug "Unknown error" in iRule

Hi all,

 

 

Due to an issue I was having with the WAM, I added WAM::disable to an iRule HTTP_REQUEST iRule. Note I have multiple iRules on each virt (I stack them using priority). Rather tan chnage each virt, I tried to just put WAM::disable in an iRule that is on all the virts, but I received this:

 

 

Jun 3 00:46:26 gsa-ea-f5001 err tmm[13687]: 01220001:3: TCL error: /Common/Initialize - Unknown error (line 1) (line 1) invoked from within "WAM::disable"

I have seen some references to this error regarding SSL, but does anyone know how I can debug this? I am not sure where to look to figure out what this really means.

    Did you ever get any more information on this? Just had it happen as well with similar configuration. Did it continue with additional traffic or did you just get the initial errors and no more?

    Just found some case information that indicates this occurs when the iRule in question is applied to a virtual server that does not have a WAM profile on it. So it makes sense that WAM::disable would throw errors on those particular vips.

    That is quite helpful. I didn't think of that. Gee, we need a way to ask if the current virt has WAM enabled. I have to think about that some more to see if I can check the config of the current VS.

     

     

    I'm actually dealing with another issue at the moment that seems related. I get an UNKNOWN error in something called _tmi_rule_WAM::SMART - Unknown error (line 2) (line 2) invoked from within "WAM::enable".

     

     

    That is not one of my rules. I also checked and I have no WAM statements in any of my rules. Perhaps it is case time...
