Bigip Administration page

Hi, Im am running version 9.8.4 Build 355.0 Final on one of my Big-IP LTM systems. Sometimes, the last one was a couple of months ago, and the other one is now, the administration page gets so slow. It still shows the metrics, I can still use it, yet monitoring the connections becomes pain. Last time we were able to solve it by issuing: Bigip restart. Now the provider we have is suggesting issuing the following command: bigstart restart httpd && bigstart restart tomcat. Now the questions: -Why does this problem appear? - Are those correct command to issue - Will issuing these commands (bigstart restart httpd && bigstart restart tomcat.) stop the server from serving or is it just going to effect the administration part? Thank you very much.

  • That's just restarting the admin GUI daemons. It won't affect production traffic.

  • Hi,

I was able to restart the administration page without effecting the regular traffic.

    Thanks.

  • I had the same type of problem. See if your situation matches this discussion thread. The F5 Solution Link and Fix Action (that fixed my issue) are in the thread.
