Does GTM makes latency ?

We use GTM between datacenters.After delegated internal and external dns servers to GTM which can solve url and redirect to VIPs at LTMs but customer said that it makes latency and time out probles is occuring ? how we can solve this latency and time out problem ?

    GTM is a dns provider, and does not provide vip-level redirection. Can you provide more details please?
