VIP Failover To Another VIP

Greetings,

 

 

My internal customer has a requirement where he wants a new VIP created supporting 3 servers, but also wants a backup VIP supporting the primary VIP. So when the primary VIP is down, due to the servers being marked down by the health monitor, the traffic would be failed to a backup VIP.

 

 

 

I have never done this before with an LTM before, so was hoping someone could provide me with some feedback on what is the best way to configure this application.

 

 

 

Using 3900's in HA running 10.2.3 code.

 

 

 

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    The quickest way I can think of is if you had gtm and you use last resort pool or if you dont \have gtm maybe an irule, read this

    and the action on down pool is redirect to VS, either https or the command "virtual virtual_server_name"

    What is this 'backup VIP' meant to be displaying?
