ltm ve licensing

I have a eval copy of LTM VE and want to convert this to a licensed system.

 

 

Can I apply a purchased license to a evaluation LTM VE vm system. If so how do I accomplish that task.

    As long as you're not using a VE trial you should be able to just reactivate the license with the new base reg key in the GUI under System | License.

    I did not think this would stump them.

    (I did not think this would stump them. really, sales explaining how to apply a license to a VE system. This does not bode well for VE)

    I have tried that but all I get back its that it does not like the keys. I removed all the keys, added just the one key ..., I guess we will need to reinstall the image and start from scratch.

  • Support isn't stumped, JB, they just are not positioned to provide a production key, that is done through the sales order process. It sounds like there has been a miscommunication. Make sure they know you have a production key, it just isn't applying properly.

     

     

    Since you're on VE, is it possible you've activated it on another VE, or this VE and it's been moved? VE doesn't like changes to UUID or mac addresses, which are fairly dynamic in a virtual environment.

    If you're getting an error stating the reg key was already activated, you'll need to contact Support again to have the issue resolved.
