Windows 8 RT VPN access

Does anyone have a idea how to access F5 VPN using Windows 8 RT? I've seen the clientless VPN example but I can't figure out if this could be adapted to RT. Open to any suggestions. (Love my new Surface)

  • Unfortunately, Microsoft did not provision VPN hooks in Windows 8 RT, so no vendor, including F5, is able to offer full tunnel-VPN access. :( You can access web-based internal resources through APM clientless Portal Rewrite mode - but that is about it.

  • Thank you Michael. I'm disappointed but hopeful MS will provide an update that adds that functionality. Neatest thing since sliced bread. I was really hoping to be able to access servers and workstation via RDP. The RDP works great as long as the tablet is connected to the specific network. VPN would make it almost perfect.

    Thanks Again!

Yes, please see this documentation : http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_apm/releasenotes/related/config-note-f5-inbox-vpn-client-windows8.html Your RT must be updated to 8.1
