Set idle timeout for a connection?

I am trying to find out if it is possible to set the idle timeout of a connection using iControl. I am trying to do the equvalent of this tmsh command:

tmsh modify sys connection ss-server-addr 172.26.21.109 idle-timeout 1

I know I can set the action on service down to reject, but this will immediately reset the connection. I want to disable the node and then decrease the tcp idle timeout so that any active connection can finish but the connections will quickly bleed off.

  • The idle timeout of a connection is controlled at the Virtual Server Level (within the Protocol Profile). So in the case of a TCP Profile you can modify the Idle Timeout Value, but again you would be doing this for the entire Virtual Server. I do not believe that it is possible to adjust the TCP Timeout for a specific server.

If you are looking for a way to bleed off the connections then you can either disable or force offline the node within the pool.

Disable (Only persistent or active connections allowed)

Force Offline (Only active connections allowed)
