Big-ip needs to talk to AWS Instance
We have an F5 Big-IP in our lab that needs to talk to an AWS Instance. In between the F5 and the AWS instance are our corporate proxy servers. When we want to communicate with this AWS Instance from a desktop machine we install Corkscrew on that desktop and as one of the parameters give it the FQDN of one of the proxy servers. This allows us to communicate with that Instance as Corkscrew handles the security certs. When we bring the F5 into the picture I don't know how to get the F5 to be able to communicate in a similar manner through the proxy server to the AWS Instance.
I know that recently F5 created an F5 AWS Instance for use in Amazon. Our issue is that when we go from our lab to production we will have an F5 there in our datacenter with a VIP that our customers are pointing to and our goal is to change out the back end pool on the F5 to AWS Instances so that our customers don't need to change their operations.
I work with this F5 on an as-needed basis so I ramp up my knowledge base to solve an issue, then don't work with it for awhile, then have to polish off the rust to solve the next problem. I appreciate any help and direction you can give me on this.
