  • I don't think I quite understand your question. If you could explain what you are trying to do, I'll see if I can provide some guidance.

  • I am sorry for my unclear questions.

Is it possible that at the same time many users connect to BIG-IP and do operations (ex. set or refer value...) by using iControl?

If the answer is YES, how many users can be allowed to connect BIG-IP at the same time?

  • We allow parallel connections to the BIG-IP but throttle them in our iControl system in a single FIFO queue. This ensures that two overlapping operations don't occur trying to make conflicting changes to the configuration.

This doesn't stop one request stomping the changes from a previous request, but it does allow us to ensure data integrity across transactions within one of our methods.

  • Thank you for your answer.

I would like to confirm that the number of parallel connections to the BIG-IP is restrictive or not. If YES, how many parallel connections be allowed?

    Thanks,
  • As I said before, parallel connections are allowed (up to the memory limit of the webserver). The same question would be to ask how many users could connect to the web admin GUI at any one time. But, for iControl, the connections are throttled by the iControl system so that the webserver buffers them in a FIFO queue and only allows one connection from that queue into the system at a given time.
