  • You can upgrade the 9.1.2 slot to 9.3 following the steps in the 9.3 LTM release notes on AskF5.com:

    https://tech.f5.com/home/bigip-next/releasenotes/relnotes9_3.html

    A quick set of steps:

    1. re-activate the license on 9.1.2

    2. save a UCS archive to /config.ucs and off the unit:

    b config save /config.ucs

    b config save /shared/tmp/`hostname`_`b version|grep '^BIG-IP Version'|awk '{print $3}'`_`date +%Y%m%d`

    3. Download the 9.3.0 IM and MD5 file from downloads.f5.com and copy it to /var/tmp/ on the BIG-IP

    4. Verify the md5sum of the IM file matches the string in the MD5 file:

    md5sum /var/tmp/*.im; cat /var/tmp/*.md5

    5. Install the IM file:

    im /var/tmp/[9.3.0 IM file name].im

    6. Run /usr/bin/full_box_reboot if prompted after the upgrade completes

    7. Reactivate the license

But again, check the release notes for the exact steps. And try checking AskF5 or contacting F5 support if you have questions/problems.

    4. Verify the md5sum of the IM file matches the string in the MD5 file:

    md5sum /var/tmp/*.im; cat /var/tmp/*.md5

    Alternatively:

    md5sum --check /var/tmp/[ 9.3.0 IM file name].im.md5
