Firepass SNMP Problem

We have a Firepass 4300 ver 6.0.3. I want to get the number of current server sessions and the failover status. When I run snmpget to test the access to the data I get the message "FIREPASS-SYSTEM-MIB::fp1000ServerSessions = No Such Instance currently exists at this OID". I do get data back from standard MIBs. This implies the FP is responding to the gets but the FIREPASS-SYSTEM-MIB isn't being supported. The help page on the FP admin console says the FIREPASS-SYSTEM-MIB is supported.

Anyone know of any problems with the FP supporting its own MIB?

  • The problem was a syntax issue on my part. oops. However, now that I'm getting some values for the OIDs I'm looking for, they don't seem to make sense based on the OID descriptions in the FIREPASS-MIB. fp1000.3, "Stop/Start/Restart uRoam bridge", returns 96. fp1000.4, "Number of current server sessions", returns 0. fp1000.5, "Number of current desktop sessions", returns 712704. The only value that seems to correspond to the number of active network connections on the Statics page on the Firepass Management is the fp1000.3. Does anyone know the what the values really represent?
  • hi,

    i have the same problem :

    snmpwalk -m ./FIREPASS-MIB.txt -v 2c -c xxxxxx 1.1.1.1 fp1000

    FIREPASS-SYSTEM-MIB::fp1000server.0 = INTEGER: 1

    FIREPASS-SYSTEM-MIB::fp1000service.0 = INTEGER: 1

    FIREPASS-SYSTEM-MIB::fp1000bridge.0 = INTEGER: 13

    FIREPASS-SYSTEM-MIB::fp1000ServerSessions.0 = INTEGER: 0

    FIREPASS-SYSTEM-MIB::fp1000DesktopSessions.0 = INTEGER: 233472

    I confirm the only value seems to correspond to current users sessions is FIREPASS-SYSTEM-MIB::fp1000bridge.0 but decreased by 1 if we look to reports --> sessions at the web console administration ?!!!

    Someone can explain to me what does every OID means?

  • I can't help you folks other than to say that my Firepasses running 6.0.3 with HF 603-2.1 are accurately reporting the number of concurrent sessions; the count matches what I see in Reports -> Sessions. This is how I monitor usage. It has been working fine for me with 6.0.3 as well as back on 6.0.2.
