Running in Single IP Space

My current architecture does no make it feasible for an internal and external vlan for pools and virtual servers. I need to run what I believe is layer 2 forwarding so my pool and virts are on the same vlan. Any place I can find infor on this please. I am a newbie the class talked about this for 2 minutes maybe

  • I would highly discourage this. You can do it in one vlan and layer3 network if you use snats.

If you want to do separate vlans but one layer3, you need to configure two vlans and then bind them with a vlan group.
  • Both methods are detailed in the LTM Implementations Guide on AskF5.

The vlan group method is described in the "Installing a BIG-IP system without changing IP

networks" section, and the snat method is described in the "Setting up a one-IP network topology" section.
