3400 single VLAN w/multiple servers

I have a 3400 BigIP and I'm trying to configure it with a single VLAN for the servers I have.

Example: VLAN Integration, 10.10.10.11/24, I have 3 different web servers that I need to assign and IP in the same network as the Integration VLAN but have them connected to there on Interface of the F5.

I will create the pool and get the msg "IP address in use by Self-IP". what are the steps involved to create a single VLAN and have multiple servers share the same network space but serve requests from different web-servers? I have a F5 in another configuration but I have unique VLANs for the 3 servers on that one, so I don't get this message.

  • There's no difference in doing it in a single VLAN, it's just telling you that you are trying to define a pool member on the same IP address as the LTM currently has configured as it's own physical IP, so it's preventing a duplicate IP situation.

In an typical layer-3 implementation the LTM's self-ip (or the floating IP on a redundant pair) should be the server's default gateway. So if you have the LTM self-ip as 10.10.10.11 you can't assign a server to that IP, that needs to be the gateway address and you need 3 additional IP's in the 10.10.10.x range for the servers.
