quick gtm and ssl question

sorry if this is a very basic question, but i'm new to gtm

do you need a seperate ssl certificate for each virtual server on seperate ltm's even if they're for the same domain?

i.e.

we have our primary ssl web site in location A

we have a failover ssl web site (which is the same) in location B

do we require 2 seperate certificates?

i guess the answer is yes, as you generate a csr on ltm which is bound to that unit, but i would be very grateful if someone could confirm?

thank you

  • No you should be able to export a cert and load it on another LTM pair without incident. You can actually just directly copy the .key and .crt files from /config/ssl/ssl.key and /config/ssl/ssl.crt respectively.
