TCP profile for the mobile connection

We are going to have a high volume of the mobile connections with the next release, and need to implement the default TCP profile for the better performance for the mobile connections. I already talked to the F5 support tech, but he told me that we'd better to use the default TCP profile as is.

Is there anyone who has already implemented the default TCP profile for the mobile connection? or do we have to use the TCP profile as is?

Here is our system spec.

BIG-IP LTM 9.3.1 Build 51.0

Thanks in advance.

  • The default profile in 9.3 should be fine with mobile networks, as the settings that would be most helpful (Selective ACKs, Slow Start, Limited Transmit Recovery, RFC1323) are already enabled. The only tweak that might be helpful is to extend the send buffer/receive window to 50k (3G link bandwidth delay products typically don't exceed 50k per RFC3481).

Testing, however, will yield the greatest results.
