Replacing ISA IWA Features with F5 LTMs

ISA Server 2006 provides a simple means to expose IIS applications, e.g SharePoint 2007 or Outlook Web Access, securely over the internet whilst allowing users to login using their network credentials. Effectively it seems to spoof the NTLM process and insert the appropriate headers etc.

Can this been done using the LTM devices or would I need to use both in conjunction with each other?

  • Hi Michael,

I don't think it's really feasible to perform NTLM authentication offloading with LTM for load balanced traffic. You might consider opening a feature request with F5 Support asking them to add this kind of functionality in a future version.
