Universal Persistence for Telnet using iRule with source IP and Port

Universal Persistence with source IP and Port v9.1.2

I need to be able to set up persistence based on source IP and port. I am using LTM 9.1.2 on a 5100. We will be upgrading to 9.3.1 in a couple of weeks, but I need the solution before the upgrade. Best I can tell is looks like I would need to use the Universal persistence profile with an iRule. I could use some advice on the iRule.

Here is some more information explaining the scenario. We have a scanner application that load balances hundreds of scanners in production where source address persistence works well. We are performing a load test on a new version of this application. The simulated traffic will be coming from 3 or 4 systems that will spawn 100 or more telnet sessions from each address. In order to ensure the test sessions are persisted and time out and disconnect, I need to be able to identify persist and expire their sessions.

Any assistance provided is appreciated.
