Cookie persistency Insert method....

under persistence profile, I created a new profile and selected cookie insert and also selected "cookie name" and gave it a name.

When I look on the client, I don't see the "cookie name" at all...this is what gets inserted from the F5:

file file is:

"username"@10.153.60[1]

File content:

default_site

4

10.153.60.47/

1024

2864505472

30112968

3084333504

30039576

Should I actually be seeing the name in plain text or is it hashed?

  • If you don't specify a session timeout on the cookie insert persistence profile, LTM will send the client a session cookie. This will be stored in memory by the client--not on the filesystem.

You can check for the cookie value in the browser itself, or by using an HTTP header logging addon like HttpFox for Firefox or Fiddler for IE.
