    Hi Balmurugan,

A good place to start would be with the new Oracle Fusion Middleware Deployment Guides, which pertain to WebLogic Application Server 11g:

    http://devcentral.f5.com/weblogs/dmacvittie/archive/2009/11/12/oracle-fusion-middleware-deployment-guides.aspx

If you are seeking information on previous generations of WebLogic, then I would recommend visiting:

    http://www.f5.com/solutions/applications/bea/weblogic/

Thanks and let us know if this information is helpful!

I would also add, that the LTM Essentials class, for configuration and administration of Big-IP devices, is now free, web-based training. The first couple chapters of this training will introduce load balancing concepts and terms. Check it out here:

  • the guide indicates that the LDAP services are configured to persist on sourceIP and fallback destinationIP affinity.

Does LDAP require persistence?? this doesn't seem quite right.

If so what should the timeout be? the default of 300 seconds seems too generous resulting in no load balancing occurring once the first decision gets made.

  • If it helps, our production Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition (DSEE) LDAP doesn't use persistence. The virtual server is configured as normal pass through to the pool with only a tcp option of keep alive interval=120
