Monitoring SQL Port

Hi,

 

 

I'm a newbee in F5 BIG IP.

 

 

I would configure a monitor that only check the tcp port 3306 responding (like telnet server 3306)

 

 

the predefined monitor oracle or MSSQL are so advanced (sql request, database,...)

 

 

What monitor can i use ? with parameters ?

  • It's OK

     

     

    When the port are configured in the pool members, i just add tcp monitor and it's OK

     

    It's like telnet server port

  • Hi David,

     

     

    I assume you're using MySQL if you're trying to monitor port 3306. LTM currently provides built in monitors for Oracle, MS SQL databases--but not MySQL.

     

     

    The TCP monitor will check whether there is anything answering a three way handshake on the port. You could also use the mysql client on LTM to check that the server is running. Another user gave their solution for this in a post here:
