Sporadic behavior with our Client Connections in New Connections

Hi All,

First off, I'm a newbie to the BigIP...

In the past week, I've noticed a strange pattern with our "New Connections" graph, particularly the "Client Connects". Part of the day it's quite smooth, but it sporadically jumps for the rest. Prior to the past week, the graph looks pretty consistent throughout the days and month. We haven't made any changes to our site within the past week.

Attached is the screenshot for the past 24 hours and the past 7 days.

Our BigIP version is BIG-IP 9.1.2 Build 40.2

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • By default, LTM doesn't log any details for specific connections. You could try to log details for this, but it would greatly affect CPU/memory usage.

Can you check the VIP and/or pool stats to see which VIPs/pools are receiving the connections? You could then try to check the server logs to see if you can find more detail about the influx of traffic.
