Custom alerts

Question

When editing the /config/user_alert.conf file, is it necessary to reboot the Bigip LTM to load the file's contents into memory?  If so, is there a way to get user_alert.conf to work without rebooting the LTM? (Specifically version 11.3)&nbsp;

You don't have to reboot in version 10.x and I'd be really surprised if you had to in 11.x, but I'm sure someone else will chime in.&nbsp;

Executing a 'tmsh load /sys config' should be enough to force the file to be re-read, but you will want to be sure that your saved configuration is the same as your running config before running this.

you are correct.. I tested. No need to reboot.  However, do you know how it throttles alerts.  For example, if I catch http response 500 and send out an alert, subsequent 500 responses are logged but not sent as alerts.  What is the throttle before it sends the same type of alert?
