The configuration has not yet loaded. If this message persists, it may indicate a configuration problem.

Hello, Recently I upgraded my F5 ltm version from 9.3.4 to 10.2.4. After that i tried reset my load balancers to default using next command:

tmsh load sys default-config And everything looked well.

But when i try to save my config(save sys config) I receive next error message:

root@localhost(Active)(tmos) save sys config BIGpipe parsing error: 012e0028:3: There is no valid configuration to save. Please check the logs for licensing, configuration, or other problems.

And when I try to log in using webpage I see this error:

The configuration has not yet loaded. If this message persists, it may indicate a configuration problem.

After that I reactivated my license and i thought that this error should disappear but it wasn't.

I'm a little bit confused because in my Dossier file I found next lines:

Licensing Information

Licensed date : 20090728 Service check date : 20111231 Service Status : As of 2014-01-27 there is no active service contract. This may inhibit your ability to upgrade your software.

I'm not sure that it's affect on ability to upgrade my software, because I have production license type and as far as I know it's mean I have unlimited license.

Is anybody know how to solve this problem?

I tried to find out some information in internet but i can't find answers.

  • Your license can affect your ability to upgrade. Yes the licensing as far as code version is concerned is unlimited, meaning you can upgrade to any BIG-IP code branch. But re-licensing the device is necessary prior to upgrading because your current license may specify versions that you are licensed to use that only include those that are available at time of previous licensing. Hope this makes sense.

Can you post the recent contents of your /var/log/ltm file here when attempting the configuration load?

Hi Cory, Here what I has when i trying reset my LTM to factory default configuration and save config after it: root@localhost(Active)(tmos) load sys default-config Saving configuration to /var/local/scf/.backup-0.scf. I'm not seeing anything that points out a problem. Are you able to create objects (nodes, pools, virtual servers) and then save the configuration? Also, check out Nathan's suggestion below about verifying your service check.

Core, thanks a lot :) I reactivated my license again and after that old configurations was loaded. I think i received this error since old configurations had some differences whit configuration in 10.2.4 version, I created new virtual server and after that this error disappear and everything started work normally. Eventually I again reset my device to factory default config and after that I typed command to save my current config(save sys config) and configuration was successfully saved. Now I haven't any error and everything ok. Thanks a lot one more time :)

I echo Cory's comments and add: re-activating your license won't update the service check if no active support. What's the date of your service check (cat /config/bigip.license) and do you have an active support contract?

  • Hello everybody, I think it's was glitch. Next solution was helpful to me: At the suggestion of Core I create new virtual server. After that error disappeared and I was able to reset and save my configuration normally.
