Wildcard Cert in Vmware View iApp not working with Android View app

I have deployed a View iApp in a QA environment. LTM only, no APM, so we are only load-balancing connection servers internally. It is secured with a recently purchased wildcard certificate that was specified in the iApp along with the CA provider's intermediary certificate. Windows, MAC and iOS view clients seem to work just fine, but Android devices spit back and error that says "This certificate isn't from a trusted authority" Has anyone com across this before? Any gotchas with View and certs for some platforms?

  • Can you check to see if the CA provider's root CA cert is installed on the Android device. If not that would prevent the android device from trusting the cert.

  • There are some issues with Android and supporting certificates that don't match explicitly on the certificate CN. We've encountered issues with the Citrix Receiver client for Android due to it not recognizing the FQDN specified as a Subject Alternative Name.

  • Apparently this only happens with the View app on Android, as browsing the the URL with the web browser on Android does not produce an error.

User also reports that the certificate installed on the production connection server (non-wildcard) works fine and it has the same provider root CA, but different intermediary cert.
