GTM: new feature to optimize RTT DNS answers algorithm

Hello,

We are ex-Cisco GSS users and we were well using this feature:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/app_ntwk_services/data_center_app_services/gss4400series/v4-0/command/reference/GSSCMR/ProxProp.htmlwp1715506

This GSS features dictates a Equivalence distance percentage in the list of RTT answers received in the GTM.

This feature avoids useless flaps between DCs in the border zones where RTT answers are similar.

For example if a user is in India and he gets 55ms answer to go to Europe VIP and 57 to go to Australia VIP, we would like the GTM to keep him on the same previously chosen VIP. It may need to have more than - for example - 20ms difference (equivalence value) in order switch to another DC.

I know/think that this is NOT possible to do it in the GTM; so if you dont have any workardound with RTT, how to open an enhancement request?

PS: Maybe the same equivalence concept should be applied also to Topology Location in terms of km/miles to avoid flapping there as well.

To avoid flapping, you'd usually use persistence. In that way only if there is no persistence record is the RTT actually looked at.
