Can GeoIP data be customized to cover private address space?

We're getting our feet wet with AVR and have imported the GEOIP databases to be able to get some dashboard stats on where connections to Virtual Servers are originating from. Eventually we are planning to develop heat maps and to customize content based on this info.

A number of our Virtual Servers are accessed by internal clients however and are showing up as unrecognized. I'd like to be able to manually define a network range and it's location. Anyone know of a method of doing this?

Thanks!

  • I do not believe that you can interface directly with the Geo-Location Database (Since it is a Third Party Database) and the only iRule options available for AVR are Enable/Disable.

If you want to make your own Heatmaps like what was done by Colin Walker (just do a search for Heat Map on DevCentral) then you could use iRule Data Groups (Classes) to do what you are wanting to do that you can't do with AVR.

    Hope this helps.

  • I had thought that was likely the case but had hoped there was a way I had missed. Thanks for confirming.
