F5 network Load balancer

Hi I am new to F5 world and just completed LTM essentials training from F5 Uni. One question, when people talk about F5 network Load balancer (I am a network engineer mainly focused on Cisco), they mean LTM, GTM or Wan Optimisation ? I am in the job market and I see ads asking about F5 network Load balancer. Thanks Jason, Sydney

  • Hi Jason,

First congrats. When you see job postings for F5 network load balancer, it's usually used to represent F5 LTM. I have also seen it used liberally to mean F5 product as a whole. So you have to be prepared that those postings are not going to be entirely accurate. You will also see postings where they mention F5 BIGIP which can also mean GTM or LTM or WAN. If you see postings where they mention ADC and modules like LTM/GTM/ASM, then you know whomever wrote the post cares enough to make the distinction.

    Thanks,
