HA Group between three LTM's, different subnets

I have two data centers that are on separate subnets. To facilitate having VIP's float between data centers I'm wishing to create a subnet/vlan on on the outside of these LTM's that uses RHI and a dynamic routing protocol to advertise the active Virtual IP's. IE VIP-A can exist at Datacenter1 and VIP-B at Datacenter2 - OSPF or BGP advertises to our routing core. I haven't done an implementation in about 18 months but last time I did this, in order to cluster the units the default route needed to be the same on all of the devices. This is a bit of a problem given my scenario as the gateway addresses are different at each site.

I guess my question is this, can I cluster three LTM's and have different default gateways on each of them?

  • just wondering why you want to configure ha group. can't you just advertise the same virtual server ip (rhi) and let routing protocol do its job?

  • This would work however I'd rather not have to configure every virtual ip, pool, node twice. I'd rather have the configuration sync that comes with the cluster. I'm aware there are hacks which will copy config from device A to device B but I'd rather use something native.
