Integrate HF with Big IP iso?

Hi,

I would like to know if there is a way to "install" a Hotfix in a Big IP iso.

And then when I'm going to install a Big IP with this iso, it will be installed already with the hotfix.

Does anybody know if there is a way to do that?

  • This isn't possible. You have to install the base version then the hotfix on top of it.

  • If the base image and HF is uploaded on the Big-IP, installing the HF via cli will automatically install the base image and then the HF

Example: install sys software hotfix Hotfix-BIGIP-11.0.0-1234.0-HF1.iso volume HD1.1

For some environments there might be light in the end of the tunnel for this: In the 11.6.0. cumulative hotfix release notes (HF4), released last week, there is a fix mentioned:

"474332F5 will start releasing "base installable" VM images as part of hotfix release. The VM images will consist of base RTM + installed hotfix on top of it. Such images are going to be ready for deployment without the need to apply hotfix as an additional step."

Note the "VM images". What does this mean is a bit unclear to me. Does it refer to cloud environments or VE's in general? Couldn't find the single full 11.6.0 RTM+HF4 .iso at the downloads.

    i understand it means cloud.
