BIG-IP Trunk Configuration Pre-Requisites

Hi All,

Is it possible to create a trunk containing copper and SFP ports on the BIG-IP? I am assuming it is possible as there are only two pre-requisites described in the Manual Chapter - Working with Trunks * Must operate at the same media speed * Must be set at full-duplex mode. The other requisite (In fact it is just an F5 recommendation) is that IF POSSIBLE, the number of links in the trunk be a power of 2 (for example 2, 4 or 8). Again this is a recommendation not a rule. Can someone help me to clarify this question? Thanks

i think it is possible to mix interface type and also speed but some interface may not be selected because the speed is different from others.

yes, it is the best practice. it works even number of trunk members is not a power of 2 but you may see uneven traffic distribution between trunk member interface.
