Forced Offline behaviour for HA cluster

Hi,

I have a question about forced offline behaviour with HA and vCMP running on either appliances or Viprions. SOL15122 would suggest that when foreced offline, HA between self-ips would be maintained for appliance systems but not for Viprion whereas SOL15757 indicates that HA would break for vCMP guests. So does anyone know what is the behaviour for an appliance with vCMP guests?

thanks

SOL15122,

On appliance systems, the system maintains connections to self IP addresses.

On VIPRION systems, the system terminates connections to self IP addresses, and does not allow new connections.

SOL15757

Note: If a vCMP guest configured as a device group member is forced offline, its self IP addresses become unreachable and you will not be able to rebuild the device trust without both devices transitioning to an Active state. The following procedures allow you to rebuild the device trust while avoiding an Active/Active situation.

Sorry if I resume this old discussion.

So to migrate a guest from a BIGIP to a Viprion without incurring in the IP duplication is it safer to remove the vlan subscription (from host) on that particular guest?

    Thank you
