F5 APM: How to detect idle but still open OWA user sessions?

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if it's possible to detected idle OWA user sessions on F5 APM and quite them? To give you some background. We deployed latest iAPP for Exchange 2010/2013. Almost everything works great with the combined iAPP (OA/OWA), except that we found no solution until now how to detected idle but valid OWA user sessions and force APM to terminate those sessions after a certain amount of time, let's say 15 minutes.

As long as the user does not close his browser the OWA will never be idle unfortunately (captured continous keep-alive traffic using wireshark). Doesn't matter if the user is actively doing something in OWA or not. As long as the browser session exists, the user session will never be idle! In the F5 Exchange 2013 deployment guide there is a special iRule mentioned (page 95) for logout inactive users, but it seems this iRule only works when user did not logout successfully in OWA and the user sessions hangs and has to be terminated.

Would be great if somebody from the f5 community could give me some advice. ;-)

Thanks in advance Regards Thrillseeker
