LTM deployment without default route configuration

Question

Hi All,&nbsp;
We had just implemented an LTM load balancing web servers.Server gateway is router and VS is configured with snat automap.We have not configured default route on F5 but web server were able to reply back from queries. I'm wondering how it works.Can somebody explain it?&nbsp;

The F5 by default uses Auto Last Hop. This should give you good detail about it, https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/13000/800/sol13876.html. Essentially BigIP tracks the MAC addresses where the connections originate from and send the traffic back there.
