StatusChanges Pending SummaryChanges pending Details Recommended action: Synchronize BNA-OPS-F5-LTM-03.eftdomain.net to group HA_Cluster

Selecting sync device to group and it never works.

Both device status is disconnected.

  • Sounds like the devices can't talk to each other on either their HA or Sync connection(i'm guessing they are the same interfaces). Can the devices reach each other on those interfaces?

  • Ok how can I verify connectivity through CLI? It seems I cannot access the vCMP guest through ssh?

How are you able to see that they are in a disconnected state? You can't ssh to the same IP as you are connecting via the GUI? Are you connecting to a self IP for that or the management?
  • The disconnect status shows when I try to config sync. Says to sync devices to group and when I try nothing happens. I cannot access ssh via same IP i get to vCMP guest via browser. Its strange.

Check your port lock down settings on the self IP. The selfIP you are using for sync needs to have udp 1026 allowed at a minimum.

You certainly can, just need to have port lock down configured properly. https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/13000/200/sol13250.html

uh wonder what the issue is here. I am going to remove all settings and start again. Its been like 8 months since I did this. I think I will document this time.

Ok that worked. Not sure what the issue was, but everything is in sync now. Very strange. Can the "HA capacity" dictate which one is active?
