IP Lock Down - Front end of F5 SL - Proxy Mode

Very simple question - I've not had a play with the interface for F5 SL just yet.

Is it possible to lock down the "Front" of the F5 Silverline product deployed in Proxy mode to only select IP addresses ? I.e. only select IP addresses should be able to access the front end before its proxied to the back end connections ?

  • If I understand you question correctly, you are asking if you can block most IPs and allow select IPs through to the back end. Yes you can. If you have AFM this is very simple, as AFM is a firewall, but even if you device only comes with LTM you can still use packet filtering to lock it down: https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/tmos-implementations-11-6-0/26.html?sr=55859739
